A new year equals opportunity. CS is growing massively and we’re hoping to see a lot more of the Meax CS GO team this year. They will be taking advantage of any new league openings and trying to get Meax out there.
Before Christmas there were complications with schedules and issues maintaining a full roster. Now with the introduction of our Swedish player ‘fastn’ we are more ready than ever to tackle this years competitions.
Just before the new year we decided we’d take advantage of the new ESL league system – Open, Major and Pro. A UK qualifier was held and we progressed through our first match, but due to unfortunate seeding, our second match was against FM Toxic. They went on to win the qualifier and enter the Pro League, although they soon got removed due to lack of communication.. Doh.
After failing to qualify for either league, we entered the Open League, which is open to everyone during the sign up period. The top 8 teams at the end of the playoffs in the Open League will move up to the Major League. This is our goal.
Right now we place top of our group with 9 points, having won all of our matches so far, our most recent against Molotovs and Marshmallows. It was a close game, with us losing the first half on Dust 2 4:11. However we brought it back with the help of ‘Daolan’ and his awesome 1v5 clutch, going on to win the game 16:12.
We’ll keep you updated as we go forward, but you can keep track of the group here: http://play.eslgaming.com/counterstrike/csgo/csgo/open/league/winter-2014/rankings/
